SAN EngineerCandidate needs have practical industry knowledge of storage products and can assist in the setting of direction, planning, cost analysis, project management, and execution of the storage strategy. In addition, practical experience on DR planning, RAID, data migration, and business continuity techniques, is highly desirable. Hands-on experience or expertise on: EMC Symmetrix CLARiiON, and Celerra products Plus related software, (i.e., EMC Control Center, Volume Logix, NaviSphere, PowerPath, Work Load Analyzer, Optimizer, Solutions Enabler, SRDF/TimeFinder, SnapView, BCVs) SAN Switches (Connectirx, McData, Brocade) Experience on IBM FAStT and IBM LTO products, is a definite plus. HP OmniBack or Data Protector. Experience in provisioning various HBAs such as Qlogic, JNI, and Emulex, is essential. Knowledge or experience on emerging, alternative, or complimentary technologies such as iSCSI, DWDM, and MAN, is a definite plus. In addition, candidate should have senior-level expertise on various platforms such as HP-UX, SunOS, Wintel, and Linux. Practical knowledge of compatibility, limitations, and software footprint is highly sought. Deep understanding of popular clustering solutions such as Veritas, and Microsoft Cluster Server products, along with working knowledge of database and middleware such as Oracle, Sybase, and WebLogic, is a big plus.
