Resources will assist with the following types of system management tasks:

Leverage VMware's new Federated version of Virtual Center (VC) Management Server console to manage ESX farms on a daily basis.
Determine existing capacity performance and work with HP on management the inclusion of new quests and growth expansion on existing and new ESX server farms in 4 key data centers.
Problem resolution support requests at local data centers
Advise on health of ESX environment through-out project roll-out lifecycle (health checks) in conjunction with P2V migrations.
Support daily, weekly and monthly reporting on various performance characteristics of the ESX Server farms including versions of 2.52 up through 3.5
Configure VC Datacenters and Resource Pools
Risk management and problem resolution
Collaborating on a variety of system management tasks on a daily basis,

VMware Consultants project responsibilities will include:
. Daily Remote management of VMWare ESX servers farms
. Assist with development of operational "run-books" for VI3
. Troubleshoot Server performance as Level 3 support role
. Support of existing virtual infrastructure
. Manage problem resolution process and provide tasking for System Administration group. at local data centers
fulfill selected sys mgmt workload-relief duties
perform capacity planning using existing tools and make recommendations for new sys mgmt tool inclusion.
Perform configuration management duties
Review existing ESX Server configurations and be able to determine current health of environments.
Know when changes are made & update configuration databases
Validate change control for Production Changes on the ESX physical servers
Act as Level 3 support for issues regarding the Guest Servers for matters involving VMware software
Document major task activities with frequency (daily, weekly, monthly) - build sys mgmt run-books.
Provide communication planning and guidance communication
Provide operational guidance such as Production Roll-Out hand-off, SA UAT, etc and documentation for such df-tc

Experience/Skills
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Candidates must have deep experience in operational management of large VMware ESX environments and capacity management experience.
Must have VCP certification and strong knowledge and experience with VMware Virtual Center console software.
Virtualization experience in leveraging Virtual Center to operationally manage large VMware ESX server Farms.
VCP certification and knowledge of various VMware tools required.
Capacity management experience in analyzing and forecasting VMware ESX Farm growth expansion per customer requirements.
Strong experience in determining root cause errors within VMware ESX environments and resolving performance issues and other major failures.
Experience with HP Blade and Proliant Server technologies is required.
Good writing and interpersonal skills is required.
