Description
Job Title: Storage Administrator


Reports To: Manager, Storage Administration

Overall Responsibilities: Successful candidate primary duties are to work with the Storage team to ensure that the Ann Taylor enterprise storage area networks are online and fully functional 24 x 7. In addition to administering the storage area network, the candidate will also provide support for the Ann Taylor scheduling systems and processes to ensure servers, applications, processes and networking devices are effectively monitored to maintain a high rate of availability.


Specific Accountability:
  • Implementing and leveraging effective Storage Management monitoring tools and processes
  • Providing technical support for Storage hardware and software
  • Interfacing with vendors to resolve issues in a timely fashion
  • Assist in designing and deploying effective Storage software solutions and architectures
  • Consulting and supporting IT initiatives that leverage Storage technologies
  • Provide second level administrative support on the Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS) environment.
  • Provide second level monitoring support on all networked devices.
  • Assist with the administration and engineering of the monitoring solutions to meet the needs of business partners.
  • Researching and evaluating new technologies
  • Providing 24x7 on-call second-level Production Operations Support

    Candidate Profile:
    Technical Skills

  • Proficient in SAN implementation and provisioning, with a thorough understanding of SAN architecture design and configuration using industry best practices and technical specifications
  • 5+ years experience with designing and implementing SAN / NAS infrastructures including
  • Intermediate knowledge of an automated scheduling system (Tivoli Workload Scheduler preferred or similar scheduling technologies.)
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Windows and UNIX operating systems.
  • Advanced troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  • Ability to work as a team member in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Project management skills a plus

    Storage Hardware

  • EMC Symmetrix/Clariion/Celerra/Centera Storage Arrays,
    Brocade SAN switches (departmental)
  • Emulex/Qlogix HBA
  • Hands on experience with EMC software tools, Control Center,
    ESN Manager, Navisphere, Timefinder, SRM tools
  • Automated Scheduling System - Tivoli Workload Scheduler
  • Breadth of experience across a variety of other platforms & technologies including UNIX (Solaris/AIX/Linux), Microsoft Windows
  • Project management experience and customer service skills
