Description
This position reports into the Technology Information Systems - Hosting Services Distributed Storage group. The team is responsible for SAN and NAS design, engineering, implementation, administration, and operational support for all distributed storage environments. The team supports multiple partner teams in the Hosting Services organization including server implementation, shared environments, database services and server certification and engineering. The team also works closely with internal IT Business Technology Groups (BTG) to support existing application storage administration as well as new project requirements.

Brief Description of Role:

The SAN Storage Administrator will focus on engineering and administration for the Storage Area Network (SAN) environment. Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Engineer enterprise class SAN storage solutions based upon business requirements and aligned with strategic storage plans and goals.
Drive evaluation of new technologies, products and solutions. Participate in assessing current environment and making recommendations for improvement with an eye to automation
SAN performance analysis using EMC Performance Manager, Hitachi Tuning Manager, Brocade / McData and Cisco performance monitoring tools.
Develop and implement proactive problem detection and resolution and systems monitoring
Technical Project Management on Storage projects
Position requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, and structured, methodical approach to systems administration
Write comprehensive documentation and meet the SLAs set with the client for the services provided
Technical/Functional Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:

Seven or more years experience with multiple storage solutions, including but not limited to EMC DMX, Clarion, CDL. Hitachi USP, AMS, IBM ESS. Network Appliance would be a plus.
Experience with SAN applications such as Data Replication, Snap Shots, and Virtualization Technology
Experience in provisioning, maintenance, troubleshooting of enterprise storage systems
Experience with Brocade / McData and Cisco Fiber Channel switches and routers
Ability to plan, document, and effectively implement projects and systems
Outstanding customer service and interaction skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment with many deadlines and competing priorities
Experience in the following is a plus: Linux/UNIX administration and Windows Server Administration.
College degree or equivalent experience
