The US Delivery Center organization is comprised of six delivery centers that create client value through innovative technology solutions primarily focused in Application Outsourcing, ERP solutions, Information Management Services, and Net Centric solutions. Job Description
 
The objective of the BW Development Consultant role in the US Delivery Center is to provide guidance on BW, acting as a technical lead for BW design, development and support for clients, and assisting with the development of BW skills amongst the BW Team through mentoring and oversight activities. The BW Developer will also perform data modeling and detailed requirements analysis for BW development projects. The BW Developer is responsible for defining and driving the use of standards for BW work. 
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Providing functional knowledge and guidance for application of SAP BW capabilities to reporting requirements in a particular, functional area (i.e. SD, FI/CO, APO, RTP, etc).
  • Designing complex, custom BW solutions or component objects.
  • Defining and detailing the BW Architecture strategy for overall development and support for a client
  • Reviewing conceptual solution designs created by other Data Modelers and/or detailed designs developed by Data Architects for BW solutions
  • Analyzing and designing solutions for complex defect and enhancement requests
  • Designing and troubleshooting complex ETL operational setups, implementations and issues
  • Designing complex test scenario’s, including performance, integration and user acceptance tests
  • Developing, updating and driving Quality Control processes for BW development and support
  • Developing and driving implementation of BW best practices and standards for the team
  • Mentoring Data Modelers, other Architects, Developers and ETL Support resources to increase their knowledge of BW, improve application of best practices, and increase overall capability
  • Providing oversight to data modelers, other data architects and developers through their responsibilities with BW development and/or support
  • Conducting Reporting Requirements workshops with clients to define scope and solution approaches
  • Translating complex requirements into an optimal BW application design (ex. Multi-cube, Remote Cubes, ODS queries, etc.), including use of business content versus custom development, staging scenarios, etc. 
 
 
 
 

Experience/Skills
Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or similar degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years experience in SAP BW and related technologies (Front end/ETL/OLAP/SEM/Integrated Planning).
  • Functional and technical design experience
