Looking for Business Analyst!

Adecco Engineering and Technical Services is seeking to find a Business Analyst for one of their top clients in the Medical Device Industry based in San Diego, CA! This position is a 4+ month contract position in the Sorrento Valley Area. Local candidates only please.

Job Summary:
Provide analytical support to the Quality Assurance Management group with the overall goal of providing information and analysis necessary to meet business objectives. This includes supporting ad hoc information requests and associated interpretation; understanding the day-to-day business and markets in which we participate; and the ability to be an effective project leader, obtain team consensus, and communicate results in both a written and presentation format.

Duties & responsibilities include any of the following as assigned by the manager:

  • Perform inquiry and analysis of SAP transactions and develops reports that will give the QA Management insight into the activities of the organization.
  • Maintain general reporting systems to provide timely information. Serve as home office resource for ad hoc information requests relating to Quality/QA Management.
  • Provides standard and ad hoc reports to monitor compliance responsibilities and identify potential issues.
  • Work on business problems, analysing and evaluating current business methods and procedures for improvement.
  • Provides technical and analytical support in the assessment of potential applications of company products to improved customer business processes and meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with end-users to define requirements for new or improved systems. Create specifications for systems to meet business requirements. Act as liaison between the end user department and IT for system related issues.
  • Provide consultation to customers on process improvements and cost/benefit analysis for new proposed program modifications, methods, and procedures.
  • Manages confidential information, including gathering data and responding to other scientific staff members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in computer science or other technical discipline. Minimum of 4 years experience; or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficient in Windows XP, Microsoft Office Suite including Access.
  • Proficient with SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of SAP systems and other database knowledge to assist in collecting and analysing data desired.

Specific skills & abilities:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, averages, process capability and other general statistical concepts. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
