Description
We are seeking a strong Data Conversion Analyst for a long-term (12+ months) data warehouse project, with a major consumer packaged goods company. This position provides an excellent opportunity to broaden and further develop your business and/or IT career. Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills. Good understanding of all aspects of software design, development and support. Ability to work effectively with team members, clients, and other IT areas. Strong written and oral communication skills.

The individual will:
. Work within and across IT and business communities to identify and partner with Legacy Source Systems contacts to gain detailed knowledge and interpretations of source system-specific data treatment, definition and meaning.
. Responsible for assisting the legacy and SAP teams with the definition of conversion requirement, specifications and mapping rules.
. Assist in the mapping of source systems data to a data model; serve as point person to ensure the Data Quality of the data that will be loaded into a data warehouse.
. Assist process teams in the defining overall conversion requirements (amount of history, core subsets of legacy data, etc.), identifying corresponding source systems/files for data to be converted, including both Master and Transaction Data; establishment of conversion rules and mappings from source data structures/definitions to common, logical data model: creation of technical specification and identify specific data cleansing needs and define approaches/methods to be employed, including specific roles/responsibilities.
. Prior experience with large scales data conversion initiatives and tools highly desirable

  • 3 - 5 years of IT and SAP experience
  • Must also have ETL/EAI package knowledge.
  • Must be able to understand process/data gaps and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Work with functional team to define the mapping, integrity and assessment rules within the ETL/EAI tools and to define data quality metrics/thresholds against which results will be measured and the delivery of data quality results.
