Description
SAP Portal Design Consultant

. Application conversion project.
. This project will take an existing web application and put it into an existing SAP Portal infrastructure.
. The first part of this project is scheduled for the July timeframe during which we will be designing and laying out the application as it will appear in the SAP Portal.

Background:

. The application being converted integrates data from multiple sources.
. These sources include SAP PM, Oracle and Sybase databases, internal corporate web servers, and other web enabled interfaces.
. This application includes drop down menus, pop up windows, color coded grids, and other web 2.0 technologies.
. The converted application must include these same data sources.
. As SAP Portal is new technology for us and has limitations on web technologies we can use, we need to know the best places to make compromises and outright changes as we build the new version of the application.
. In addition we need to determine the best way to reassemble the parts.
. We are also looking to add the ability for users to set at least some preferences in the new product which we were unable to do in the current product.

Experience/Skills
. In need of a design resource who understands the SAP Portal infrastructure, what it can do, what it cannot do, and how to layout a highly usable portal application.
. The successful candidate must have previous design and development experience in this area as well as familiarity and experience with SAP systems and SAP portal infrastructure.
. The person being engaged will also need demonstrated technical expertise and strong problem analysis and reasoning abilities.
. Also required is knowledge of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and SAP Web Dynpro 7.0. The ability to effectively communicate and work with team members and other technical support teams is also required.
. Experience with any of the following software products is a plus: SAP ECC 6.0 (PM & Controlling), and SAP PI 7.0, formerly XI.
