Description
  • Responsible for working with business and IS professionals to define and deliver business solution projects.
  • Proactively seek ways to apply technology to business processes, researching and providing information to senior business managers on technical needs and competitors practices.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manage external vendors as part of the team.
  • Provide technical and analytic guidance to project team.
  • Recommend and take action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
  • Direct projects and be responsible for overall implementation and execution of projects and performance criteria for assigned business area.
  • Monitor and communicate progress of IT projects to business managers and IT Management.
  • Develop, motivate, and direct staff to create highly productive team environment and provide worldwide global support to assigned business area.
  • Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Identify resource needs and assign individual responsibilities.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope.
  • Effectively apply software development methodology and enforces project standards.

    Experience/Skills
    Team Management
  • Minimum 5 years' team management experience, including leadership of a large (10+ person) cross-competency technologies
  • Evidence of successful team leadership for multiple project lifecycles
  • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor associate and mid-level project managers
    Project Management
  • Proven track record of successful SAP project delivery on-time and on-budget.
  • 8-10 years of which at least 3-5 years in SAP Project Management experience working in complex business and IS environments - preferably in the Supply Chain and Logistics sector
  • Certification in formal project management methodology preferred
  • Proficiency in formal project management methods, including internal documentation and external communications
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately project timing and associated costs across a range of project types, scale and complexity
    Knowledge Base
  • Superior communication and leadership skills
  • First-hand oversight experience on technical development efforts and ability to speak to merits of, and differences between, commonly used applications and technologies including Rational Unified Process, J2EE, Webdynpro, SAP R3, BW, XI
  • Familiar with the principles of management consulting, user experience, technology and business development
    Education Requirements and/or Preferences
  • Bachelors degree in business or Computer Science
  • MBA a plus
    Technical Skill Requirements
  • Preferably 7++ years experience with 3+ years SAP successful program/project delivery experience and 3+ years of Portal
  • Superior communication and leadership skills
  • Ideally a mix of consulting and end user industry experience
  • Certification in project Management methodology (example PMP)
  • Previous experience as a software developer or application architect strongly preferred.
  • Must understand 80/20 prioritization
