A senior-level professional, the Systems Development Specialist is competent to work on complex projects and applies in-depth, hands-on skills with software development particularly applicable to working with ERP systems. The Systems Development Specialist acts independently, operating with only general direction; errors at this level may cause significant disruption and/or major cost. Incumbents may provide guidance to and assist in training less experienced staff. Incumbents are responsible for the development, implementation, and customization of software dealing with interfacing to, extracting from, and updating select ERP systems. To support this, individuals filling this position must be familiar with the languages, tools, and protocols within these ERP systems. The list of ERPs is referenced below. Additionally, as BizTalk is the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) tool, used, familiarity with this tool and EAI concepts would be a real plus.

REPRESENTATIVE PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and develop software for commercial Finance and Accounting applications, using SDLC.
Evaluate and recommend approaches, techniques and solutions to meet objectives of extracting data from and updating ERPs working with the BizTalk EAI tool.
Build software solutions using the tools, languages and protocols supported within the specific ERP systems addressed.
Document the software solutions built, following appropriate standards.

Works with users and business SMEs to ensure understanding of the business requirements required for this development.
Work with users and business SMEs to assist in test preparation and execution to evaluate the solution built.

Maintains state-of-the-art knowledge and compiles information into recommendations and analyses.
Work with user and business personnel to assist in training in use of developed software as appropriate.

Education and Typical Years of Experience

Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience. Minimum 5-7 years of progressively experience working with programming features of the specific ERP's and associated development tools. (Oracle, SAP, Cincom, I-Scala, PeopleSoft, includes the EAI tool BizTalk 2006)
SAP skilled programmers who can write extracts and updates to SAP FI modules, using ABAP and SAP IDOC's, and BDC protocols. Should have two years plus experience. Should be familiar with FI tables in order to determine where data extraction needs to occur. Familiarity with EAI's such as Biztalk is helpful.



Education and Typical Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience.
