Title: SAS Developer


Duration: 6 month Contract

Location: Fairfield

Salary: $100,000 to $110,000 per annum plus all corporate benefits or upto $60 /hr depending upon the skills and experience.

Job Summary

REQUIRED SKILLS:


- Develop new SAS applications that can interface with a Java Web front end or SAS Web Report Studio;

- Use SAS BI/DI technology to develop interfaces to multiple data sources for upload to a data warehouse.


- Use SAS technology to create complex reports that can be rendered either through SAS web report studio or java based web technology. Knowledge of BI methodology and advanced reporting methods is required. Knowledge of SAS Information Map Studio, OLAP, and Data Marts is a plus.


- Understand CDISC SDTM specifications. Apply knowledge for project to move a SAS DI based application that creates FDA submission required datasets from a Windows platform to a Unix platform.


- Support existing SAS based Clinical Applications in the Global Drug Development Group (GDD);


- Knowledge of Unix platform is a plus


- Consult with the Project Management Team in GDD to identify technical solutions for customers


- Experience using SDLC procedures is required.


- Excellent oral and written communication skills is required.

- SAS Certification is a plus




Required Qualifications:



- Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field and eight plus years of current, documented Information Technology experience, OR Masters Degree with six years current, documented Information Technology experience, OR ten plus years current Information Technology experience;

- Minimum of six years current, documented IT project management experience (experience with at least eight full-life cycle projects).

- Minimum of five years current experience managing global project teams;

- Minimum of three years current, development and programming experience with SAS DI (Data Integration) and BI (Business Intelligence) platforms that assist with clinical research and drug development processes;

- Strong experience with JAVA, XML and Web development;

- Must have SDLC Process knowledge;

- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate concepts and ideas related to assigned projects and customer support
and have the ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all levels

- Self-motivated with high degree of initiative and excellent follow up skills, along with strong analytical and problem solving skills;

- Strong teamwork skills with the ability to work in both cross-functional teams and global teams;

- Ability to execute assignments of high complexity and recommend alternate solutions;

- Must have proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead large IT projects, handle project control responsibilities, and have the ability to organize and summarize data for decision making as well as technical leadership;

- Must have conflict management capabilities, strong organizational skills, customer facing experience, and the capability to work thru ambiguity;

- Ability to make independent decisions within a well-defined area/scope of project, to take ownership of the project, and the ability to work with limited supervision; and
