Boston Scientific in Maple Grove, MN has an opening available for a SAS Programmer-Reimbursement and Outcomes Planning Analyst.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Research and Analysis. Create, update, and maintain reimbursement/coverage profiles for current and potential products/procedures in the hospital (inpatient/outpatient), freestanding ambulatory centers, and physician office settings for market and sales support. Analyses include evaluation of Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance coding, coverage and payment for key cardiology products. Support product-marketing teams with reimbursement summaries (cost/clinical data) for both US and international pre- and post-product launch analyses. Provide research support on international reimbursement issues affecting priority products; support strategic planning for new products for submission of economic dossiers for reimbursement negotiations with health authorities, private payers domestic and international. Research and complete local, state and national coding applications (e.g., CPT-4, HCPCS, New Tech APC) for key products. Support Reimbursement Help Desk and call-tracking database for both internal and external reimbursement requests.

Using SAS, conduct statistical and economic analyses, convert SAS databases into other formats such as ASCII, Excel, and Access. Develop paper and electronic reports for various internal clients. Analyze large retrospective databases (health insurance claims, national surveys, hospital discharge data), clinical trial data, prospective outcomes research, and other data to develop reports to support health economics, outcomes, reimbursement and policy-related research for cardiovascular products and disease areas.

Monitor US health policy literature/information related to Boston Scientific products and reimbursement and outcomes issues. Assist in the maintenance of project plans as part of the new product development process in collaboration with the R&OP Manager. Conduct literature searches; assist in the execution of project specific publication strategies. Assist in the execution of reimbursement sales training.

Bachelors degree in Business/Economics/Basic Sciences preferred. Graduate degree or course work in health policy desirable, but not essential. Minimum 1-2 years work experience in health care industry; medical device experience preferred but not mandatory. Functional experience in health care consulting, business development, health care policy or medical marketing/marketing research.bly 4-5
