CDI Aerospace is currently looking for a SDA Matlab Simulation Engineer


Job Description:

Leadership or participation in multidisciplinary research and collaboration with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems software.

The Software Design Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation and verification of embedded software within our avionic products.

This involves the use of modern microprocessors and supporting software engineering development environments.

Entry level candidates should be interested in working in a hardware intensive environment and be eager to learn during their training period.

Successful candidate should possess some of the following skills: the use of a high level language (such as C/C++ or Ada) and an assembly language and have some exposure to database design.

Other key areas of involvement may include real time considerations, fault tolerant system design, diagnostics and supporting the development environment.

A willingness to produce high quality, well documented software for flight critical applications is essential.

This position requires an individual whose academic background and interests lie in the area of software engineering, numerical methods, control systems and computer architecture.

Provides strategic direction for systems, projects, and programs in area of expertise.

Contributes to the company and the industry by advancing the level of knowledge within that discipline.

Provides cross-functional guidance and expertise.


Typical Educational Requirements:

BA/BS degree w/10+ years experience.
MA/MS degree w/7+ years experience.
PhD degree w/4+ years experience.


Job Responsibilities:

Design, extend, implement, test and support a Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow based model of the 787 Electrical Power System (EPS) for use in a commercial training simulator.

This includes knowledge of and experience with the construction of simulations using Simulink and Stateflow.

Experience with RTW and ERT is considered a plus.
Knowledge of aircraft electrical systems would be very helpful.

Generate and maintain software documentation, support external and internal customers, and implement software change requests.


Education:

BSEE / BSCE, or a BSCS with emphasis on software development and embedded systems.


Experience/Qualifications:

1 to 3 years experience developing complex simulations using Simulink and Stateflow.
Use of these tools to develop deliverable code/systems is helpful.


Additional experience will be helpful in the following areas:

Programming experience in M, particularly for S Functions and callbacks for custom Simulink blocks.

Verification and Validation experience.
System integration experience, medium scale.
Development of Embedded Code using C GNU Toolchain, MKS.

Hardware / software integration testing.
Linux; proficiency setting up using GNU toolchain in Linux.
