SEGMENT SOURCING MANAGER- (SOFTWARE)

The Software Sourcing Manager actively Source Embedded Software and Engineering Services for respective business units (BU).
Candidate will identify and assess potential vendors and then negotiate software license and services agreements minimizing Thomsons cost and risk

The Software Sourcing Manager shall manage Embedded Software and Engineering Services vendor & develop Partner relationship
Performance will impact BU market positionning in terms of innovation, time to market and price.

The Software Buyer is a member of the worldwide Software Sourcing Network managed by the Global Software Sourcing Manager.
As a Software Sourcing team member, candidate will communicate with and contribute to the global Software Sourcing team for optimizing Software Sourcing strategies and activities.

Candidate works with BU representatives to identify and manage BU Software Sourcing needs and then leads the Thomson Negotiation Team (Product manager, program manager, technology experts, lawyer).
Candidate also shares with the Sourcing and BU community supplier based opportunities, as well as Embedded Software and Engineering Services market intelligence. Working with the Sourcing community (especially Project Sourcing), increases quality of service to the BU & maximize performance.

The Software Sourcing Manager attends industry events to survey industry trends and identify possible new suppliers or partners

The applicant is expected to have a master degree in computer sciences / software engineering or equivalent experience
A minimum of 7 years of professional experience or equivalent is required.
Business management education or experience is a plus.

1. Solid skills to understand, question and synthesize complex cases with software, business and legal aspects required.
2. Solid negotiation and leadership skills required.

3. Abilities to manage projects and foster multi functional, multi cultural team are required.
4. Availability and ability for regular travel as well as strong work capability are required.
5. Team and transparency spirit and interest in foreign cultures are required.
6. Fluency in English spoken and written are required.

7. Experience in negotiating software license agreements or engineering services is a plus.
8. Experience in embedded software development and/or open source software domain are a plus.
9. Experience in the domain of video / cinema is a plusdf-tc
