Description
GENERAL FUNCTION:
Develops cost-effective information technology solutions by creating new and modifying existing software applications. Coordinates with users to determine requirements. Codes, tests, debugs documents and implements complex software applications. May coordinate activities of the project team and assist in monitoring project schedules and costs.
The position is on the Technical/Professional ladder at level 3 in the Applications Development discipline.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Designs, codes, tests and implements application programs in accordance with client specifications.
2. Coordinates project resources for application projects with minor complexity.
3. Analyzes, codes, tests and documents routine enhancements made to new and/or existing programs.
4. Interprets business requirements and identifies solutions to meet business objectives.
5. Demonstrates proven knowledge in one or more applications or systems.
6. Analyzes application systems and programming logic problems and, where necessary, revises logic and procedures.
7. Participates in 24x7 production support on-call rotation.
8. Other duties as required.

Experience/Skills


MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


Undergraduate degree in computer-related field, with 3-6 years of computer-related experience.

Required skills:

COBOL and JCL

Strong analytical skills, ability to manage and work to priorities, and good communication skills

Preferred skills:

SAS, Roscoe TSO, and DB2
