SENIOR J2EE APPLICATION ARCHITECT - PERM Position

JOB SUMMARY:
Provide application architecture direction and guidance to J2EE projects; Provide the architectural direction for applications development as well as business-value cases amongst the Application Development staff but also work towards consensus through mentoring; Promotes the concepts and practices of professional-grade, enterprise-class J2EE solution engineering; Provides direct counseling and guidance on best design practices and coding techniques; Researches and proposes information system solutions to meet emerging market challenges; Familiarity with large-team software development and release cycles; Will analyze, design and implement complex computer programs involving financial systems; will work in a highly dynamic team environment; independently meets with customers to determine information technology status, desires, needs and cross-system issues on projects of high sensitivity or complexity, including integration of business functions, interface design, and database design; acts as a resource, on a consistent basis, to other team or department professional staff; leads application development projects using J2EE of moderate to large size, complexity, and duration, including creating project plans, project scope, cost estimates, coordinating activities of programmers and customers.df-tc

Experience/Skills
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1) A bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related information technology field, with coursework in an information technology specialization related to the area of employment;
2) more than six years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in complex technology projects featuring the extensive use of JAVA 2 Enterprise Edition; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
a) Demonstrable experience in planning, designing and developing complex business applications using J2EE technologies;
b) demonstrable experience in problem resolution; excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
c) ability to work in a multi-programmer environment; demonstrable experience creating business application systems using JSP, JAVA servlets, XML, Spring, Struts, JDBC, ORM, Web Services, SOAP, UML, XSLT/XPATH, JNDI and JTA;
d) experience with Eclipse, ANT, and Tomcat; create and help with integration test scenarios;
e) experience with Oracle databases is preferred.
