Laboratory - Computer Service

Ochsner Clinic Foundation is currently seeking a Senior Program Analyst for the Laboratory Computer Services area. The Senior Program Analyst will perform systems analysis and assist the user in defining and documenting informational needs and requirements, as well as, translate user needs into information needs. Job duties include preparation of detailed specifications for developing new systems and modifying existing systems. Additional duties include assisting in conducting feasibility studies, evaluating software, planning implementation schedules, and providing general problem solving services and creative solutions. On-call assistance for problem resolution after normal working hours is also required.

Job requirements include Bachelors degree; additional equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree, and three to five years programming experience using Info/Basic and at least one other higher level language. Experience with large Laboratory Information Systems encompassing exposure to complex data processing systems is also required. Additional requirements include demonstrated proficiency developing application databases with UNIX, Universe and other on-line system development tools such as Revelation.
