Adecco Engineering and Technical, a division of the world leader in the recruitment of engineering and information technology professionals, has an immediate opening for a contract opportunity with a leading company in Rochester, New York.

In this position candidates will research, design, development and/or implementation of computer based control systems. Participates in the design phase of a new system to help define product features and systems capabilities.
Must have ability to: design subsystems, provide technical guidance to other programmers and engineers, develop test data, monitor subsystem testing, interface with multiple client contacts, including users, and work independently.
Will work as part of a project team at a senior level, with candidate having 5 or more years of experience (on both Windows and/or Mac platforms) that includes the development of a shipping, consumer-oriented software application.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
BS degree required

Additional Desired Skills:
Event logging, boost.org and other C++ standards
WINQUAL Certification
Unit test frameworks.
Encryption, digital signatures and data security
\XML, including experience with namespace-qualified XSLT and XPATH
\Web Services, Client/Server environments including design of RESTful or SOAP-based services.
Knowledge of Windows 7 Device stage a plus.
C++, object-oriented design and system analysis
Proficiency with performance and debugging tools.
General imaging technology knowledge a plus.
Familiarity with Python.
Understanding of software design, analysis and application development including multi-threaded and multi-core support.
Understanding of debugging (memory dumps, customer support efforts and inter-process security failures)
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team setting. Willingness to cross functional boundaries with necessary.
Appreciation for and understanding of business tradeoffs when making technical decisions.
Ability to absorb, evaluates, conceptualize and demonstrate new technologies.
