POSITION TITLE: SENIOR TECHNICAL WRITER
LOCATION: LAKE FOREST, CA

POSITION SUMMARY:
? Plan, design, develop, and maintain high-quality product documentation deliverables for multiple projects.
? Provide technical writing services to marketing and other functional groups.
? Develop documentation that conforms to company and industry standards, and proactively contribute to improving processes and standards.
? Communicate with various functional groups to identify, schedule, and deliver technical documentation and other project-related deliverables.
? Support other technical writers.
? Facilitate the localization process within the department.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
? Deliver product documentation (75%)
? Facilitate localization of the documentation (10%)
? Participate in the improvement of departmental processes, standards, and tools (5%)
? Improve product knowledge through formal training and self-directed learning (10%)

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
? Adobe FrameMaker and Adobe Acrobat.
? WebWorks Publisher Professional.
? Thorough understanding of current topics in the technical writing field.
? Logical thinker with good organizational skills
? Working knowledge of HTML.
? Working knowledge of technical writing best practices for producing task-oriented documentation.
? Ability to work with minimal supervision.

EXPERIENCE:
? One to five years of technical writing experience.
? Experience in establishing departmental processes and standards.
? Experience in creating Microsoft HTML Help and web-based Help.
? Experience creating documentation from initial concept to finished product.
? Experience creating product document sets

EDUCATION/TRAINING:
? Bachelor's degree in computer science, English, journalism, anthropology, or related field. Work experience can be substituted.
