Summary:
As a member of the Communication Services team, the candidate will have project management responsibilities for maintaining and improving K-C’s state-of-the-art, global messaging environment with some cross platform unified messaging design and support. The candidate will work with Avaya PBX’s and Polycom video equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide infrastructure support and project leadership for K-C’s state-of-the-art, global voice and videoconferencing environments.
  • Work with business sponsors and other teams in support of application upgrades and new system rollouts.
  • Interact with K-C’s delivery partner in supporting critical incidents and in completing services requests.
  • Interact with business clients to access technical requirements and develop cost effective solutions
  • Develop best-practice recommendations and policy enforcement
  • Systematically secure relevant information, relating and comparing data from different sources, and identifying key issues.

    Basic Qualifications:
  • A Bachelors degree plus 5-7 years of applied experience in voice or video services
  • 3+ years project management experience in large global videoconferencing and/or voice environment
  • Working knowledge of networking design and theory experience
  • Networking skills should include data basics (subnetting, Ethernet, switching, routing and QoS)
  • Knowledge of traditional PSTN
  • Knowledge of IP trunking (VoIP) applications and implementation
  • Previously conducted analysis and made recommendations for IP trunking
  • Capable of calculating bandwidth requirements and managing traffic routing
  • Proven capability in resolving complex audio/visual issues
  • Required 20-30% travel, occasional night and weekend work, and rotation in a 7x24 on call support structure.

    Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience with Avaya Voice Communication Infrastructure including S8700, S8300, G700, Modular Messaging, CMS, PBX/Automatic Call Distributor (ACD), Interactive Voice Response (IVR), and Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)
  • Knowledge of audio visual and videoconferencing component integration including design of conference and auditorium rooms, installation and programming of Creston/AMX touch panels, configuration and installation of videoconferencing endpoints; Polycom MGC product experience and experience with IP and ISDN video systems
  • Experienced with Unified Communication and streaming media applications is a plus.
