Information Technology Manager / Lin-Win Engineer
Our Client, the world's premier provider of micromarketing engines for customer-centric enterprises, is seeking a smart and self-directed IT Manager to manage Data Center Operations as well as provide supervisory oversight for the Helpdesk and Corporate System infrastructure.
Information Technology Manager, Position Overview:
As IT Manager, you will report directly to the Executive VP of Engineering & Operations and will be responsible for oversight of all IT Operations. You will assume technical ownership of all Data Center Operations and supervisory oversight of the Corporate Systems infrastructure and Helpdesk. Your team consists of a Corporate Systems Manager, a Senior Systems Administrator and a Helpdesk Technician. You will be responsible for managing this team and ensuring a high level of service delivery and satisfaction across the organization.
We have a heterogeneous deployment of systems in Production and Corporate. Linux, Microsoft Windows and MacOS are the primary operating systems in use across the organization. You are expected to demonstrate a high degree of competency with Linux and Windows, and at least a working understanding of MacOS.
Responsibilities Include:
o Hands-on Linux, Windows and network administration and troubleshootingo Manage Data Center facilities and assets, automates tasks, and performs day-to-day maintenance, with triage and delegation as necessary.o Solution architecture, design, cost comparison, installation and turn-upo Translate business requirements into IT initiatives which are then tracked to completion. Administers the Development, QA, Staging and Production Linux and Windows server infrastructure.o Automate system build and configuration steps to increase efficiencies and reduce human error.o Manage vendor relationships and negotiations between vendors, choosing the most cost-effective solution.o Work directly with the Director of Finance and the Technology Management Team to understand and navigate strategic business direction and growth forecasts as they affect IT.o Formulate yearly budgets for Data Center, Corporate Systems and Helpdesko Publish/enforce Acceptable Use and Information Security policieso Forecasting and capacity management for long-term service availabilityo Backups and disaster recoveryo Administer hardware and software support contracts o Periodically meet with team leads to weigh overall satisfaction, and gathers requirements for future initiatives.o Perform periodic team reviews and performance management, ensuring the Corporate Systems and Helpdesk are operating at peak efficiency.
Key Skills and Requirements:
Efficiency and teamwork are key to success. We are looking for candidates who can work quickly, are self-starters, and work well with management yet require little day-to-day supervision. The IT Manager must have excellent interpersonal skills which are necessary to work effectively with employees across the entire company. Successful candidates will also demonstrate the following attributes:
• Minimum of 7 years direct experience administering Unix and Windows environments• Strong Linux sysadmin skills• Experience managing a high-uptime data center for a SAAS application• Management experience, or clear demonstration of management capability• Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently (in-person, phone, email, IM)• Quick learner who is highly-adaptable, has a positive attitude, and stays organized• Willingness to work hard in a dynamic, “start-up” environment• Experience working with and administering Mac OS X clients (nice to have).
