Sr. Applications Developer (Sharepoint ASP.net VB.net)
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter who will be responsible for the full application development life-cycle, including technical analysis, requirements, design/prototyping, development, testing, documentation, and delivery of assigned projects. This is a "classic" applications developer position that will focus on the full life-cycle of development: 1) talking with users; 2) identifying requirements; 3) getting analysis; 4) proto-typing; 5) coding; 6) testing; and 7) documenting. Because this is a pure development role, in addition to being able to deliver solid, well-written applications, it is critical that the successful candidate understands business relationships, be able to anticipate problems and ask probing questions. The Senior Application Developer must be able to interface well with users and provide a high level of client service. Potentially, as role develops, this individual may interface with attorneys and partners.
Job Responsibilities:
The Senior Application Developer will be responsible for the full life-cycle of development, including technical analysis, identifying requirements, analysis, prototyping, coding, testing, documenting and delivery. On-going support may also be required to implement enhancements to existing applications. This individual will work closely with attorneys, paralegals and support teams in the practice groups, as well as Firmwide administrative departments.
Requirements:
Technical Background:
Highly skilled and proficient using Microsoft SQL Server, Visual Basic.NET, ASP.NET, Sharepoint, Visual Studio, Visual Source Safe.• Experience developing web parts and other customizations for the Microsoft SharePoint (WSS 3.0) and Portal (MOSS 2007) environments desirable.• Experience documenting code and system processes and procedures in a clear manner.• Ability to partner with software integration specialists and Firm business process owners.• Prior law firm experience highly desirable.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years or more of experience in full life-cycle application development using Microsoft client/server and web applications environments.• Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions that provide responsive solutions.• Advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive, detailed data.• High client service ethic and focus on delivery of exemplary client service. • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and resolving issues proactively. • Strong technical aptitude and understanding; ability to quickly learn new applications and development tools.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to problem solve where a precedent may not exist.• Strong project management skills and ability to achieve consensus and project results. • Strong communication skills and ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
