Description
Current Tasks:
" Review requirements and write test plans
" Run and execute various SMS application testing as well as platform testing as needed
" Work with product development teams to understand needs/requirements; review requirements and write meticulous test plans
" Troubleshoot issues/problems with SMS services and applications (Instant Messaging, Push Apps, etc)
" Fix issues (ie use protocol analysis to trace issues)
" Become one of the SMEs in SMS
" Lead effort to resolve SMS special character issue
" Work the SMS Service Type implementation in the lab (build out environment and work with Jun to test and validate)

Future:
" Will participate in defining how we will run SMS applications on the network going forward
" Will help to evaluate the evolving network architecture to handle different SMS applications in the most efficient means of supporting the network - ie traffing routing; service level measurements for traffic, etc...
" SS7 automation testing with MGTS

Experience/Skills
Skills:
" Must have SMS - need to know how it works, understand SMS apps and shortcode routing, understand Mobile-to-mobile and Mobile-to-App
" Need to understand downloadable ringtones/graphics/songs
" Need to understand "WAP Push"
" Should have worked for a carrier/vendor - Logica, CMG, Comverse, RedKnee, etc... or any GSM carriers
" Experience testing - test plans, cases, scripts, execution; Lead test experience (preferred)
" Understanding of SMPP protocol
" Experience with protocol analyzers/test tools - any tool fine. Our client is open to suggestions for tools that make the most sense for the environment and is willing to invest based on suggestions from this person, if applicable. (ie need the ability to decode packets and perform protocol analysis)
" Experience working in a lab environment (nice to have)
" Unix (strong +) - understand log in, navigation, scripting - ie writing scripts to automate pulling/analyzing logs
" TCP/IP - basic routing
" SS7 (+) - if they wo
