**This position is Contract Contingent upon Funding Award and expected date of award is anticipated to be between

December 1, 2006 and January 1, 2007.

Job Summary:



Responsibilities:



Collect and analyze satellite catalog data to determine the quality of SPADOC system performance.



Monitor, analyze and report status of SPADOC computer system, associated equipment and communication paths.



Categorize problems detected as hardware, software, or procedural to determine proper corrective action.



Log failure data associated with SPADOC system anomalies for further analysis by Tier III support. Develop and refine SPADOC system procedures.



Provide technical assistance to the SPADOC computer system users and resolve system anomalies.



Assist SPADOC testers in performing system tests and analyzing test results.



Assist with building and running SPADOC crew-training scenarios.



Works independently with minimal supervision.



Perform duties on a 24/7 rotating shift supporting the Joint Space Operations Center.



Required knowledge: SPADOC Computer System and Communications Systems.



Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools.



Good written and verbal communication skills.



Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.



Desired knowledge: Orbital Analyst skills. Knowledge of the USAF Space Surveillance Network.



Technical Skills Required:



Ability to administer the Space Defense Operations Center (SPADOC) legacy system is required.



Ability to troubleshoot and analyze IBM Mainframe and mini-computer system problems is required, to include knowledge of IBM mainframe operating systems.



Customer Interface skills are required for fielding, diagnosing and resolving problems related Space Defense and Communications Systems Legacy Equipment. Ability to use and administer Cisco network products is desired.



Background & Educational Experience Required:



Bachelor's degree, three years of system troubleshooting, and/or help desk experience is desired, with one year experience in IBM Mainframe systems administration.
