Description
In this position provide strong, hands-on contribution to the quality assurance team for ongoing qualification of Microsoft and Unix web-based applications in a rapid engineering environment. With minimal direction, perform complex assignments with an emphasis on detail and quality. Identify risk and provide solutions to complex issues. Troubleshoot failures and work with development to reach a resolution. Demonstrate analytical skills assessing product requirements and functional specifications. Create test strategies and contribute to project plans. Develop manual test cases for feature functionality, creation integration strategies among products and perform test execution. Create automation for feature sets where applicable. Contribute to project estimations and risk analysis.

The candidate must be willing to take initiative, work on multiple projects and demonstrate flexibility in the prioritization of responsibilities within these projects. In addition, the candidate must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner, work independently to analyze and solve complex problems, demonstrate excellent organizational skills, have a strong commitment to productivity and a proven aptitude in the assessment of products and the product lifecycle process.

Qualifications/Requirements
* BS in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or equivalent education and
experience.
* At least 4 years Software Quality Assurance (SQA) experience preferred, with exposure
to formal methods and processes.
* Experience testing Labor and/or Scheduling products preferred. Experience with
Optimized or Smart Scheduling products a plus.
* Understanding of SQA product lifecycle: project and test plans, requirements documents,
test specification and, results reporting.
* Strong understanding of system, regression and error testing and defining strategies to
assure system stability.
* Understanding of software product lifecycle: project and test plans, requirements
documentation, functional specification, prototyping, design and implementation of
object-oriented software as described in data structures and algorithms, and unit test.
* Experience testing web-based products that use industry-standard databases is required.
* Experience testing Java based applications and SQL is preferred.
* Coding experience with XML, Java, Silk Test and relational database technology preferred.
* Excellent written/verbal skills for reporting problems and communicating with other
engineers.
* Effective interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills.
