Description
DUTIES >> Main focus will be supporting external partners in the interop testing of Linux Power PC hardware on different Storage Arrays with VERITAS Storage Foundation products and the tools used to acheive that. Also responsible to review test results and complete the appropriate steps of the process to complete the interop test. In addition to this there will be a need to be able to replicate issues internally. Also prepare lab hardware, systems and applications to carry out systems integration testing on for all VERITAS products. High level tasks include the following: OS installations and revision/patch updates. Configure various Linux Power PC Servers along with various hardware peripheral devices such as Fibre Channel host bus adapters and network interface cards including driver updates and firmware revisions. Fibre Channel installation and configuration on disk and RAID storage subsystems Application installations of various storage management, clustering software. Installation and configuration of SAN interconnect hardware such as Fibre Channel switches and hubs in both copper and optical cable connections. Supports Partner testing Works with Marketing and Development Engineers to define requirements for specific systems integration tests. Develop and execute test strategies, project test plans, reports and online documentation. Interacts with product teams and developers throughout the product life cycle especially during the test phase. Lead and coordinate incident and bug tracking and resolution during final interoperability testing SKILLS >> Linux knowledge, OS installtion, experience with Shell/perl scripting, Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Experience with IBM PowerPC servers a Plus. Sound working experience with VERITAS Storage Foundation Products including Clustering products and Products for Oracle RAC. Hands-on self-starter with strong experience in problem isolation and debugging with exceptional troubleshooting skills. Must work well in a dynamic team oriented environment. Ability to work on multiple projects, in different stages of completion at one time. Must possess ability to exercise best judgment on the importance of a problem, prioritize it and determine appropriate actions to obtain resolution. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills required. Strong knowledge of test processes and methodologies with strong quality orientation. Setting up and configuring servers and other hardware and software components in a clustered environment. Experience in client/server and networking (LAN) test environment, SAN experience a plus. Extensive experience in a Software/Hardware test environment and Vendor Managment Software experiance is required; EMC, IBM, HP/Compaq, Hitachi Storage Arrays Storage Arrays; Brocade, Cisco, QLogic and McData Switches; development experience is a plus.
