What you will be doing!
  • Monitor database operations.
  • Estimate MYSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage.
  • Develop and support MYSQL database replication
  • Develop and optimize physical design of MYSQL database systems
  • Tune and optimize the performance of all the staging and production database instances.
  • Establish mechanisms for data backup/restore of relational databases; provide restoration services as needed
  • Plan and execute disaster recovery.
  • Develop stored procedures and database triggers in support of application development.
  • Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and design.
  • Develop application-specific fault-tolerant distributed database mechanisms
  • Participate in the creation of development, staging and production database instances, and the migration of those instances from one environment to another.
What you need!
  • Demonstrated experience with Open Source/Linux development and production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience administering of InnoDB and MyISAM table types.
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL/MYSQL Master/Slave configuration and replication.
  • Demonstrated experience Fault tolerance configured systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with multi-master clustering (HA).
  • Demonstrated experience with SQL/MYSQL performance tuning and optimization (query optimization, index tuning, caching and buffer tuning).
  • Experience with data profiling, metadata analysis, Datamodelling and relational schema design.
  • Solid understanding and experience in disaster recovery, planning and implementation.
  • Experience with backup and recovery process.
Desired experience:
  • Must have experience with cloud computing or virtualized server environment. Amazon AWS experience preferred.
  • Experience with database monitoring applications.
  • Experience diagnosing and resolving a broad range of technical problems in a mission critical environment.
