We have an immediate need for a SQL DBA

The Data Base Administrator (DBA) will be responsible for providing technical support for the database environments (Sybase IQ and SQL Server 2005 - including SSAS) including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment of performance and implementation of new technologies.

Responsibilities:
Primarily responsible for logical and physical design of tables, complex ETL processes, data loads and updates.
Creating MS SQL Server stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages
Design/Build OLAP cubes and MDX queries using Microsoft Analysis Services.
Creating Sybase IQ stored procedure and triggers, construct complex SQL Queries, advanced Unix/Perl Shell Scripts.
Do Capacity Analysis, Performance & Tuning for databases.
Individual will share the 24/7 responsibility of insuring reliable execution of all database processes.
Will work directly with Lead DBA and will be part of a team of developers located in remote locations.
Must be very analytical with attention to detail, results oriented, able to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively across a team located in different locations.

Required Qualifications:
4 years experience in a MS SQL Server/OLAP on a Windows environment.
2 years of experience in a Sybase on a Unix Sun Solaris environment
Prior experience with working in a large Datawarehouse environment with complex data models is needed.
Strong data modelling and data exploration skills needed.
Strong knowledge about product architecture and configuration of Sybase ASE, IQ and MS SQL Server is needed.
Experience with BI tools such as Hyperion, Microstrategy and Cognos is a plus

Position Requirements:
Performs data modelling , logical and physical database design based on a thorough knowledge of modelling techniques, the modelling tools available on the project, and the business functions of the subject system.

Has performed database administration, including tasks such as: loading data, managing data security and user access, performance monitoring and tuning, and all aspects of data integrity, backup, recovery, user and developer support. Plans, executes, and maintains database capacity, backup and recovery, and disaster recovery plans. Exhibits familiarity with all phases of database programming (eg, assists programmers to troubleshoot and tune programs for the most efficient database usage). Possesses thorough knowledge of the subject DBMS, DML (SQL), DDL, utilities, services, troubleshooting, architecture, syntax, etc

Displays expertise with host operating and networking environments to completely provide all required functions and services, including estimating and monitoring of all required hardware, coding and execution of administration jobs, in addition to monitoring and archiving backup files.
