Description
Immediate need for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to work for a leading company with the actions sports industry. In this role you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, patching and tuning of SQL Server and Oracle Databases for Axapta ERP, AIMS Inventory and related systems



Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Install, maintain and upgrade SQL Server and Oracle tools and patches.

2.Maintain expert knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle Databases.

3.Allocate system storage and plan future storage requirements for the database environment.

4.Enroll users and maintain system security.

5.Ensure compliance with License agreements.

6.Control and monitor user access to the database environment.

7.Monitor and optimize the performance of the database and ERP and Warehouse Management Systems. Analyze systems and recommend system improvements or corrections.

8.Plan for backup and recovery of database information.

9.Maintain archived data on appropriate storage devices.

10.Back up and restore the databases, to include review of current processes, defining requirements, making recommendations, and implementing new processes, as required.

11.Perform all maintenance duties on a regular basis.

12.Formalize a plan and write up troubleshooting procedures. Update system procedures as appropriate.

13.Maintain accurate and current knowledge of IT integration and industry trends.

14.Maintain working knowledge of the following operating systems: Sun Solaris, Windows 2000 and 2003 Server, Windows 200 and XP.

15.Maintain working knowledge of ERP Application modules in all business areas.

16.Maintain working knowledge of networking protocols.

17.Ability to guide programmers in the use of system software and linkage to application programs.

18.Ability to analyze changes and enhancements to software and determine the impact on existing production systems, system design, programming standards and operating procedures.



Additional Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1.Participate in the development or modification to new or existing systems.

2.Recommend new systems software and hardware to provide data processing solutions.

3.Provide guidance on Data Warehousing, Mining and reporting.

Experience/Skills
-Bachelor's degree (BA/BS.) from four-year college or university; and five to seven years related DBA experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

-Microsoft Certified DBA
Oracle experience prefer 2 to 3 years of experience....

--Knowledge of AXAPTA ERP system.

-Knowledge of computer based PC applications such as Excel and Word as they apply to business functions and a third or fourth generation language.

-Knowledge of current computer technology.

-Knowledge of business functions, such as accounting, sales, customer service or distribution.

-Skill to adhere to data processing and computer application standards.

-Ability to recognize and work with fine details effectively.

-Ability to work independently with minimal supervision - a self-starter.

-Ability to effectively communicate with users and all other internal and external contacts.

-Ability to handle confidential data.

-Ability to coordinate and synchronize multiple projects.

-Ability to design computer systems.

-Ability to write plans to develop appropriate software.

-Ability to utilize computer reference material to conduct independent research and solve problems.

-Ability to determine optimum configuration required for installation of software in the most-
