We have an immediate need for a SQL DBA in Colorado or Iowa

JOB DESCRIPTION
SQL DBA in Boulder Co or Dubuque IA (75450)

This position is to perform SQL DBA project work. This will require expert level MS-SQL DBA skills, windows skills and Scripting skills. Excellent written and verbal communications skills will be require. Customer interface skills required. Tasks will include but not be limited to:



Installing, patching and upgrading MS SQL 2000 and 2005 in test and production environments, backing up databases and restoring databases at customer request, doing MS SQL problem determination and resolution, implementing security database requirements, provide database performance tuning, adding, moving, deleting MS-SQL data bases, establishing backup processes.



Application and logical database support is out of scope of this work.



Technical Requirements

Level 5 MS-SQL skills; Level 4 Windows and Level 4 Scripting skills



1) MS SQL SQL Server Install/Upgrade/Patch (SQL 2000 & 2005)

2) MS SQL SQL Server Backup and Recovery (SQL 2000 & 2005)

3) MS SQL SQL Server - OS Backup and recovery (TSM, Netbackup, etc.)

4) MS SQL SQL Server - Performance Analysis (SQL 2000 & 2005)

5) MS SQL SQL Server - MSSQL Alliance tools (MS related tools, Profiler, MPSreports, etc.)

6) English written and verbal communication skills

7) MS SQL SQL Server - MSSQL Clustering

8) MS SQL SQL Server - Error Analysis (SQL errorlog, event logs,etc.)

9) MS SQL SQL Server -Monitoring tools (Service Layer, Sentry, etc)

10) MS SQL SQL Server - Data Transformation Services (DTS)

11) SQL Server - Transact SQL

12) SQL Server - Replication/Log Shipping

14) SQL Server - MSSQL GUI (Enterprise Manager, Management Studio)

15) SQL Server - Basic SQL Server Administration (SQL 2000 & 2005)

16) SQL Server - Analysis Services

17) SQL Server - Windows Commands (cd, ftp, ipconfig, etc.)

19) Team work skills

20) Ability to work independent and work tasks and issues to completion

21) IIS



Candidates need to be U.S. citizens and need to be able to pass a background check. Although the person filling this position can work from home initially, the job may move to a Delivery Center in Boulder, CO or Dubuque, IA so candidates in these areas would be preferred. Skill in IIS would be a plus but not required.
