Description
We seek talented SQL Database Administrator to be our client's onsite SQL resource. For the first three months, the position it will focus centrally on SQL DBA functions, such as performance tuning, optimization, analysis, documentation. They are currently running 10-12 SQL Servers (2000 and 2005). They are ideally looking for someone that came from a small to mid-size environment, and who may have worked a little with simple network administration tasks because other persons were able to do it.After the initial three months, this position would involve assisting with Systems Administration duties, such as scheduling backups, troubleshooting networks, working with active directory. They are not seeking a true systems administrator, but more for someone who has the aptitude to learn about Windows networking environments, as they have 90 networking servers.The position will continue to morph and move into more focused on data warehouse and business intelligence needs, all using SQL. The goal is for the position to be able to grow into the Sr. role of working with SQL warehousing and BI.

Experience/Skills
This position requires 2+ years hands-on SQL Database Administration and Systems Administration experience. Must have a strong understanding of Active Directory and ability to troubleshoot, performance tune, monitor, and backup SQL 2000 and 2005 Servers. Experience integrating new applications into databases, data-mining, and data warehousing is a must. Experience with CACHE desirable, but not required. MCTS preferred.
