Description

The Database Testing Analyst provides technical expertise in the functional and performance/scalability testing of relational database management systems (RDBMSs) that support enterprise applications. The Database Testing Analyst also works with the Database Manager on testing new software requirements and updates, monitors daily system performance, and performs automated testing for all database applications. The responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate installation, configuration and functional/scalability testing with vendor, and other IT departments for all updates and new releases of the Clinical Manager database applications
• Works with the application teams and vendor staff to review and ensure adherence to applicable testing standards
• Develop appropriate scripts, test cases, and automated routines to validate all database applications in the Clinical Manager application including functionality and scalability of the database(s), performance and stress testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Participate in capacity and performance review exercises to ensure the Clinical Manager application is functioning/scaling as expected once in production.



Experience/Skills
Specific experience / skills required:
• Knowledge of MS SQL, installation and configuration of MS SQL, knowledge of SQL cluster using Microsoft Cluster Server a plus
• Strong working knowledge of automated testing tools and procedures
• Strong development skills including but not limited to VBScript, Perl, HTML, Javascript
• Good working knowledge of testing applications in a MS SQL 2000 application in a clustered environment
• Excellent system troubleshooting skills a must
• Experience with Enterprise Systems Mgmt tools
• Good written and verbal communication skills
