Position Overview:
Plan, design, implement, tune, and analyze business-oriented technical solution databases and SQL applications including data/process analysis and modeling, logical and physical database design and development, and database maintenance and management

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Install, configure and administer SQL Server in clustered and standalone environments.
  • Document and Implement SQL Standards and Operational Procedures.
  • Provide Production Database Support 24/7.
  • Provide client/server and web application development using MS SQL Server and Windows.
  • SQL performance tuning utilizing industry standard tools and tracing software.
  • Create procedures, database triggers and table creation scripts.
  • Database optimization and replication strategies
  • Create scripts for database administration, maintenance and performance improvements.
  • Create SQL backups and restores.
  • Implement Disaster recovery for SQL databases
  • Upgrade SQL servers and databases
  • Understand and implement SOX requirements
  • Migrate data across different databases and platforms
    understand networking concepts, security, administration and hardware configuration

    Additional requirements:
  • Full understanding of MS SharePoint technologies
  • Installation and configuration of WSS in clustered environment
  • SharePoint site creation, maintenance and backup/recovery.
  • WSS Production support.24/7
  • Performance and tuning of WSS
  • Understanding of Oracle databases
  • Oracle installation and configuration
  • Oracle Backup and recovery using RMAN
  • Oracle performance and tuning


    Optional requirements:
  • Understand of SAP technology
  • Understanding of UNIX kernel
  • Unix Shell scripting
  • SAN Technology (EMC and HP)

    Position Requirements:
    The candidate must also have strong verbal and written communication skills, experience in evaluating, developing, and implementing technical operations, policies and procedures, strong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, proficiency in MS Office, MS excel and Visio. The candidate must be familiar with project management concepts/methodologies, understand project development lifecycle, and adhere to Software engineering standards.

    Candidate must have a Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences or related fields.df-tc
