SQL DBA

Precision Resources, a division of the Trimarc Group Inc., is currently looking for a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) for a permanent opportunity located in Birmingham, AL.

As the SQL Server DBA you will be responsible for the day to day operations of the company's databases in the development, QA and production environments, as well as helping application developers design and implement new databases and related systems.

The qualified candidate will be working as part of a dynamic, engaged team, is hands on, energetic and takes real ownership of their systems, initiatives and commitments.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Installation, upgrades and patch management for 2000/2005 SQL Server database environments.

Maintain the rolling deployment of database code to various development, QA, and production environments.

Manage source control of databases after they have been built by developers; handle database code migration to different environments.

Help design and build data warehouse.

Perform database optimization and tuning; ongoing capacity planning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidate MUST be a US Citizen

At least 4 years MS SQL server experience

Excellent knowledge of SQL Scripting is required

Excellent knowledge of SQL Server 2005 is required; knowledge of SQL Server 2008 is highly desirable. This should include: Log Shipping, Analysis Services, SSIS, and Reporting Services.

Excellent knowledge of database security management, code migration, database change management and data management through the various stages of the product development life cycle.

This position requires a Bachelor's Degree
