Top local employer is seeking expert level MS SQL DBA for it's enterprise database team. This is a full-time, direct hire position and only the best need apply. Candidate will be an exceptional communicator, who is ambitious, can think outside the box and who knows the technical material beyond what is written, but knows real-world application of concepts.Candidate provides operational software support for internally and commercial applications of relative complexity and scope.The environment affected is primarily domestic but in some instances may have worldwide impact. Candidate will be involved in analysis, design and layout of relational database management system (RDBMS). Functional / Technical Skills/ Knowledge: • Intermediate knowledge of Operating Systems, Relational Database Management Systems and server class computer hardware and storage devices. • Basic knowledge of TSQL, data transformations technologies and or OLAP services. • Basic knowledge of database analysis tools for reporting, modeling, tuning and optimization. Duties: • Plans, evaluates and implements solutions pertaining to internal and commercial business applications that could involve operating system, computer related hardware and relational database management (RDBMS) manipulation. • Maintains and troubleshoots database management systems to ensure stability, data availability and data integrity. • Handles problem recognition and resolution for routine user problems. • Interacts with appropriate departments and external customers or vendors when needed to resolve issues. • Evaluates, prioritizes and answers all incoming request related to RDBMS. • May test software or hardware as it relates to RDBMS. • May write or revise installation documents and procedures. • May develop or revise standards as they relate to RDBMS. • May be required to handle issue outside of normal business hours. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Makes good, timely decisions in situations that are fairly complex and might involve uncertainty or pressure. • Communicates primarily with peers, team members and management • May communicate directly with external customers • Key supportive stakeholders include external customers, network engineers, application engineers and innovation teams. • May make occasional contact with vendors or partners for issue resolution or research. • May participate on projects of medium scope, varied duration and moderate complexity. • May provide systems analysis and design revision. • Routinely involved in systems implementation. Associates Degree or higher in Computer Science or related field to include two years experience in database support.
