Description
Established Environmental Engineering firm seeks IT professional for their SQL Database Administrator position. Will need to perform day-to-day management and maintenance of SQL. Server production, test, and development databases. Build reports and create user-accessible queries and ad hoc reporting capabilities. Tune databases and queries. Create, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL packages. Perform database back-ups, monitor database performance, identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and issues. Act as the interface between applications and data integrity. Apply patches and upgrades.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Minimum 2 years experience managing SQL Server 2000 (experience with SQL Server 2005 is a plus). This experience includes managing back-ups, tuning queries, and performance monitoring and modifications. Experience in upgrading from SQL Server 2000 to 2005. Strong knowledge of DTS (knowledge of SSIS is a plus). Experience with setup and maintenance of SQL Reporting Services including report design and security and an understanding of IIS. Experience in Sharepoint experience and maintenance is a plus. Programming in VB, VB.Net, or C# would be a plus.
