Description
Robert Half Technology is accepting applications for a SQL Database Administrator for a contract to permanent position for one of our Seattle (Eastlake) area clients. The SQL Database Administrator will be part of a two person team working in a production environment. The Database Administrator is responsible for the implementation, operation, administration and maintenance of company databases in the areas of performance, availability, reliability and data integrity.     Description of the SQL Database Administrator position:
  • Implement and maintain company database systems.
  • Monitor SQL Server databases to insure maximum uptime and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure database licensing and versions are current.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery routines.
  • Develop and Implement custom database queries and reports as needed.
  • Create new instances of databases and copying databases between environments.

Experience/Skills
    Description of the SQL Database Administrator position:
  • Implement and maintain company database systems.
  • Monitor SQL Server databases to insure maximum uptime and performance.

  • Ensure database licensing and versions are current.
  • Design, implement, and maintain database backup and recovery routines.
  • Develop and Implement custom database queries and reports as needed.
  • Create new instances of databases and copying databases between environments.
    Requirements:
  • 3+ years experience in design, deployment and administration of Microsoft SQL Server Database environments in Microsoft Windows 2000 server environments.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Certification desired.
      • Relevant experience with the following Database Systems:
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server, Microsoft Windows 2000 Active Directory and Microsoft Windows 2000 Account/Group Management
    • SQL Server Security, Database Creation/Design and SSRS Data Transformation Services
    • SQL Commands and the T-SQL Command Language
    • Solid understanding of enterprise data backup and fail-over technologies.
