Description
SQL Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

- Maintain the MS SQL Server database and OLAP environments.

- Optimize and tune database/OLAP systems to maximize their performance and operation.

- Investigate and resolve production issues that may originate in the database systems.

- Investigate and resolve production issues that may originate in Analysis services/OLAP servers

- Deploy new databases and upgrade/update existing database systems.

- Install SQL and OLAP production servers

- Daily operations including monitoring, storage management, backups, index maintenance, and troubleshooting.

- Provide 24/7 on-call support for database and OLAP systems during assigned shift.

- Ability to work on projects as required.


Qualifications:

- 5+ years experience maintaining or developing databases using SQL Server 2000 and 2005 in an enterprise environment.

- 3+ years working with AS, SSIS, BIDS, or BI suite.

- Experience with or understanding of the demands of 24/7 production support.

- Experience running SQL and OLAP servers in a SAN environment is highly desired.

- Experience with SQL Server transactional replication highly desired.

- Experience with SQL Server OLAP (Analysis Services) required.

- Knowledge of SQL Server internals highly desired.

- Knowledge of SQL profiler and performance dashboard highly desired.

- Knowledge of Windows internals highly desired.

- Experience with T-SQL,MDX, XMLA, BIDS, Visual Studio 2005

- Knowledge of Database engineering practices and schema design.

- Knowledge of Internet based services; Web technologies; Excel PivotTables

- Familiarity with OLAP/SQL Reporting technologies

- Strong relational database experience in logical and physical data models and data marts

- Strong experience in OLAP/Cube design and build (Microsoft Analysis Services)

- Strong understanding and experience in ETL (Microsoft Integration Services)

- Strong analytical and organizational skills.

- Team oriented.

Required Education:

- Bachelors degree in Engineering or related field or commensurate industry experience.df-tc
