My client is currently searching for a SQL Database Administrator to provide database application life cycle support including database design, development, implementation and support in the development and production environments. The candidate will also provide recommendations and solutions on database and application architecture, database integrity, security and availability to the community. Experience/Skills
Requirements of the SQL Database Administrator:•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems. •Plan, implement and administer the backup of all company databases; ensure that database backups are succeeding; administer the warm-standby (log-shipping) processes. •Collect and analyze database SQL Server performance data and make recommendations for improving performance and efficiency. •Install and configure DBMS software, and other software related to DBMS administration. •Assist developers in creating and modifying database schemas. •Administer existing enterprise database servers. Required Skills: •Significant SQL Server 2000/2005 database administration experience. •Understanding of data modeling, database optimization, and relational database schemas. •Ability to interpret and write complex SQL queries. •MCDBA certified is preferred•Experience with PowerShell or other Windows-based scripting tools.
