Description
This position will perform the activities and functions of a Database Administrator (DBA) primarily supporting SQL Server technology platforms and application databases in production, development and test environments. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years SQL Server database technology and database administration experience utilizing SQL2K, SQL2K5 with at least one year administering SQL2K8, and should have demonstrated capabilities of working collaboratively in a team environment. The position will be part of a Database Administration team that supports SQL Server, Oracle and UDB/DB2 database technologies 24x7. Oncall rotation is required. Extensive experience performing stress testing, database tracing, performance monitoring, debugging complex SQL code along with fine tuning SQL code.

Technology experience specifics:
SQL Server database technology and administration
Understanding of SQL Server database clustering
SQL Server instance monitoring and database problem analysis
SQL Server replication techniques
SQL statement analysis and tuning
DTS package coding and job management
SSIS package coding and job management as well as DTS to SSIS conversion expertise.
Database recovery and data refresh techniques
Disaster Recovery methodology's along with offsite recovery experience.
Microsoft Windows server technology

Additional technical experience considered a plus:
Oracle database technology and administration
Unix technology knowledge
IBM UDB/DB2 database experience

Ability to communicate technical direction clearly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Ability to manage multiple requests and deliverables
Ability to manage project commitments and communicate status appropriately
Ability to create and deliver technical presentations

Educational experience:
Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
SQL certification in either 2K, 2K5 or 2K8 a plus.
