Mastech Inc is a growing company dedicated to innovation and teamwork. We are currently seeking a SQL Database Administrator for our client in the Banking domain. Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000/ Annually

Role: SQL Database Administrator

Role Description: The SQL Database Administrator would need to have at least 5 years of experience.

Responsibilities:

- Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
- Implements data models and database designs, data access, and table maintenance codes; resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication and other distributed data issues; as well as perform extraction and transfers of data across different platforms.
- Creates Backups by setting a maintenance plan on each server to create SQL native backup and runs Backup execution to copy the backup from disk to tape on a nightly basis, and ensures that the process yields a restorable backup job.
- Optimizes objects in the database, e.g. Tables, Views, Stored Procedures, Functions, CLR Code, and Triggers.
- Provides assistance to other teams, in the optimization of Views and Stored Procedures needed for critical business analysis.
- Ensures high availability for data access, by working closely with the server management team to develop availability strategies and solutions and by coordinating the purchase of technologies that meet these needs.
- Works with members of the development team to assist in all aspects of design lifecycle with respect to backend data solutions.
- Assists Developers with design decisions and provides guidance and feedback where warranted.
- Responsible for the Disaster Recovery plan as it pertains to database access, and is available for 24/7 on call support as needed.
- Reviews disaster recovery plans with server management, and other teams to ensure the execution of their elements are in place.

Required Skills:

- SQL Server.
- Database Administration.
- Bilingual Spanish.

Qualifications, Training, and Experience:

- 4 years of college degree is required in Computer Science or related field.
- 8-10 years of experience in Information Technology with 4 years Certification in database design, administration, and network administration is highly desirable.
- Knowledge or working experience of programming preferred.
- Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the Computer's Science field.
- Experience with all Microsoft Office tools.
- Bilingual English and Spanish to read and write.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science

We are looking only for people willing to join us directly as W2 employees.
W2 salaried with full benefits or W2 hourly all-inclusive rates.
