We have an immediate need for an SQL/Database/Programmer/Developer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Developer will have strong SQL Server 2005 development skills to work in the International Risk MIS team. Data will be sent from various locations, including ftp (csv files), Sybase ASE and Sybase IQ databases, and SQL Server 2005 databases. Raw data will be aggregated from one or more databases to produce summary metrics to be used in reports and cubes. Some databases will include millions of records. Developer will design and build cube-based reports using multiple Microsoft technologies (SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS). This includes the full data import to report building path. Focus of these reports are fast-performing cubes and MDX-based queries for reporting.

Areas included are:
--Designing and building SQL Server 2005 databases, including tables, stored procedures and functions. Some databases will be built using star/snowflake schema to be used in Analysis Services cubes.
--Building ETL stored procedures to aggregate data from multiple SQL Server databases
--Optimizing database performance, especially for large databases - indexes, primary keys, etc
--Create SSAS cube
--Create MDX queries to use in Front End charts and grid reports

Technical Requirements
3-4 years building SQL Server databases, including fact/dimension tables, views, stored procedures
2-3 years creating SSAS OLAP Cubes (Visual Studio 2005)
-Expertise in large datasets, cube optimization, dimension-building,etc
VERY STRONG MDX query skills to build simple and complex reporting queries

Experience with the following preferred:
Dundas Charts

Additional Skills that are a Plus
-Experience with .NET (C# or VB.NET)
-Experience working with Sybase ASE and/or Sybase IQ

Position Requirements:

Works under the direction of a team leader, senior technical leader or analyst. Develops prototypes from functional specifications. Designs application sub-systems and small systems. Develops program specifications/detail design documents. Has participated in the development of functional specifications. Codes, tests, and debugs complex application programs. Assists users in testing, training, and preparation for operations. Demonstrates an understanding of object-oriented development tools and techniques, has worked on multiple platforms and/or with multiple methodologies.
