Description
Candidate will provide software engineering expertise in database / software design, development and implementation of complex systems that directly enable our client to increase its efficiency and controls in order to provide high quality, cost effective products to its members. The job function primarily supports the reporting and data analysis in the financial areas.

Role:

. Contribute to the design, implementation, and documentation of various software applications.

. Provide verification that processes are reliable, and maintainable through development and structured unit testing.

. Provide support for deployment and post-release maintenance activities, including after-hours support.

. Provide technical expertise and support during the installation and maintenance of purchased third-party products.

. Interact with customers in order to identify and analyze business requirements.

. Develop SDLC deliverables to support solution.

. Provides design and experience in the implementation of new platforms and processes to support development strategies.

. Provide technical training, knowledge transfer, and consultation to other team members.

. Participate in the development, review and enhancement of best practices for applications development.

. Facilitate teamwork with all members involved on projects and capability initiatives.

. Create detailed project specifications following established SDLC standards and guidelines.



Experience Required

. 1 to 3 years of experience in hands-on database development with SQL Server and/or Oracle.

. 0 to 3 years of working experience in object-oriented application development (e.g. Java, C++, C#, Smalltalk), object oriented analysis and design (e.g. UML), systems design, standards, and operating software.

. Working knowledge of RUP, computer hardware, programming languages, LANs, and general-purpose office software.

. Experience writing/debugging T-SQL stored procedures, cursors, user-defined functions, triggers, etc.

. Knowledge of DTS packages is beneficial.

. Must have experience writing Ad-Hoc SQL Queries.

. Proficient in customer relations

. Familiar with OOA&D and UML techniques and tools.

. Familiar with object-oriented languages, specifically Java and C#.

. Familiar with RUP artifacts and the phases of RUP.

. Preferred Bachelor Degree.
