Description
Robert Half Technology is currently seeking a SQL Server DBA with heavy Oracle DBA experience for a 6 month contract to hire opportunity. This position requires the maintenance of database growth, optimization and support of client/server applications.Daily tasks can include:-Monitoring SQL Jobs-Research and apply (when appropriate) security patches, firmware and BIOS updates to operating systems and client/server hardware components.-Run Backups and Replications-Monitor system performance and work with other teams to resolve issues as they arise.-Deletion of Temp Files-Ensure technical documentation and DB statistics (i.e., database growth, disk space, etc.) are up-to-date for every client/server database implementation.-Support enterprise database design and implementation projects including application integration, security and availability.-Provide technical guidance, technology direction and project management for large-scale domestic and international projects including application tuning and planning and installing database upgrades and patches in test and production environments.-Provide 2nd and 3rd level end user technical support-Provide 2nd ad 3rd level technical application database support-Drives problem escalation and provides necessary feedback and follow-up to customers within agreed company policies to ensure that the employee and the company act legally and with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
