SQL/Oracle DBA Team Lead Job Description

1st shift long term W2 contract



SQL/Oracle Site Lead/Team Lead will be responsible for technical leadership and site customer relations/support 300+ SQL and SQL Data Warehouse Databases and a high availability Oracle RAC environment in support of an IBM account. Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005, Oracle 9i, and Oracle 10g are the primary database technology utilized. Leadership of this environment requires one with a strong and diverse database support background with a compliment of strong leadership and team building skills.



DBA Skill set 4-5; leadership/management Skill set 4 (on a scale of 1-5)



The candidate will be responsible for:



- proven track record leading database teams, mentoring, and management of onshore/offshore DBAs of various skill levels.

- strong leadership/oversight in support of a extremely dynamic production virtual SQL and Oracle DBA Team providing Physical DBA support

- strong DBA background to be able to provide some hands on SQL and Oracle DBA support is a requirement.

- leading patching as directed by the customer for security and software currency to me contractual requirements

- leading SQL and Oracle teams to provide backup support as defined in the backup strategy defined by the customer

- write, implement and oversee strict support of processes developed by and in support of the customer related to audit and security compliance, database

support best practices, builds, migrations, backups, performance tuning, project fulfillment, etc.

- The job requires the candidate to be located in the Plano TX area to be the onsite customer presence in support of Database Administration.

- leading/managing Oracle and SQL teams to ensure all SLAs are tracked and met to contract requirements.

- self motivating; with excellent written and oral skills required

- able to work provide escalation support on a 7x24 on-call basis and able to deal with strict deadlines and constant reprioritization.

- able to deal with stressful situations involving timely incident resolution and meeting project dealines on time.
