Description
Role/Title: SQL Programmer

Role Description:

The Developer will be expected to do the following:
- Perform build and testing of SQL jobs. Read and analyze design documents.
- Create and test SQL jobs.
- Create and test triggers and views as necessary.
- Work with team to create data migration plan and implement error handling.


Responsibilities / Deliverables:
The Developer will be responsible for the following:
- Write Technical Specifications
- Producing code
- Successfully unit testing code
- Resolve defects

Required Skill set:
The Developer must possess the following skills:
- DB2
- Oracle
- Unix experience is a plus
- 5+ years experience with SQL or PL/SQLwith strong programming capabilities
- 5+ years of application development experience, including complex, n-tier systems
- 5+ years developing batch programs which utilize a relational database
- 5+ years experience working with DB2 databases and coding SQL statements


Requirements:
Education:
4-year college degree, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Nice-to-have skills:
- Familiarity with Actuate and Autosys
- Application development and/or functional experience in brokerage industry or any other allied area
- Familiarity with configuration management and deployment solutions and tools such as Harvest, PVCS and VSS

ADDL Notes:
DB2 and SQL are the most important. Oracle will not be used but experience with it will help if they dont have DB2.

This is pure programmer position so strong SQL skills and a history of writing SQL scripts is what is important. Otherwise normal development experience such as documentation, testing, process, working with analysts, translating requirements into coding, etc.df-tc
