Description
Permanent position for a Systems developer/Web application developer. This position is in Southern California. Responsibilties:
1. Review, develop, and design data models using standard diagramming techniques, in conjunction with application development teams; creates logical data models and translates into physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database structures.
2. Monitors relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use, and physical implementations of databases; addresses a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration, maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues, and new applications.
3. Monitors and maintains database security and database software, in cooperation with data security administrators.
Typical DBMSs used are Microsoft SQL (relational), and DB2 which is supported on AIX and AS/400. Participates in strategic projects for the Global IT department. Knowledge in Java, or HTML

Experience/Skills
3-5 years SQL-SERVER, or DB2 experience
AIX and AS/400 platform experience
Strong data modeling experience, Database monitoring and performance tuning.
Any JAVA or HTML application development would be a plus.
