Description
Excellent long term contract positon in windy hill area!

Creates, maintains, and implements relational databases for testing and production.
Participates with engineers in providing backup and recovery for databases and other server products.
Supports application teams in data modeling and in understanding server capabilities.
Participates in creating, maintaining, and disseminating technical policies and standards.
Supports application and infrastructure teams on project initiatives and technical issues.
Promotes team synergy, with other administrators, and with application and infrastructure teams.
Regularly communicates with other IT staff.
Seeks ways to enhance both individual and team efficiency.
Promotes and builds effective working relationships with business and IT partners, support staff and vendors.
Attends and participates in weekly team meetings, and in application and infrastructure meetings where appropriate.
Prepares weekly status report.
Applies a structured approach to managing projects.
Identifies and responds to business/technical trends.
Participates in strategic planning and project estimating.
Carries out any other such duties as may be assigned or requested

Experience/Skills
5 + years of experience in Information Technology, demonstrating increasing levels of technical responsibility.
- At least 3 years of experience in administering databases.
- Experienced in industry standard backup and recovery techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency in performance tuning and data modeling.
- Capable of structuring and planning projects, managing and reporting on them throughout (examples of your work may be requested).
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment where shifting priorities frequently alter work plans.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both technical & non-technical environment.

Other desired skills:
5 + years of experience in Information Technology, demonstrating increasing levels of technical responsibility.
