Description
Microsoft SQLServer Database Administrator

The task is to provide general SQLServer support.
II. Scope
Will support production Microsoft SQLServer systems. The location of work will be SW Washington DC 20410. The period of performance will be from September 6 through November 30 with possible 30 day extensions beyond that point.

Will be responsible for the following tasks:
1.Installation, configuration and upgrading of SQLServer software and related products
2.Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
3.Support Database design and implementation
4.Implement database changes and updates for application releases
5.Implement and maintain database security
6.Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
7.Support application tuning and performance monitoring
8.Setup and maintain documentation and standards
9.Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
10.Work as part of a team and provide 7x24 support when required
11.Respond to problems, and document corrective action.
12.Provide any additional assistance, as required.

Five plus years experience in database administration and/or development.
At least 2 years demonstrable experience focusing on Microsoft SQLServer.
Evening and weekend work required for application release implementation.
Good interpersonal skills, and able to communicate effectively.
