Job Summary:=0A =0A Reporting to the Database Administrator Team Lead, provide technical expertise in the design, implementation and maintenance of relational database management systems that support institutional business applications. Administer, maintain, develop and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database. Implement data models, database designs and data access. Resolve database performance issues. Perform all duties assigned by the Database Administrator Team Lead. Must know, practice and ensure that company policies and procedures and state and federal laws are followed at all times. Ensure that no company, employee or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.=0A =0A Responsibilities and Duties: =0A =0A 1. Ensure proper follow-through on all directives, bulletins and schedules from the Corporate Office and Database Administrator Team Lead. Maintain a good flow of communication with the Department employees and within the Corporation.=0A =0A 2. Make sure customers receive prompt, efficient and courteous attention for all contacts and transactions.=0A =0A 3. Be familiar with procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints and disputes and resolve any customer complaints in a friendly, courteous manner. Advise the Database Administrator Team Lead of serious complaints or incidents.=0A =0A 4. Ensure logical data models are mapped effectively and efficiently into physical data models that take advantage of the characteristics of the specific database management system used.=0A =0A 5. Review, develop and design data models using standard diagramming techniques, in conjunction with application development teams. Create logical data models and translate into physical database structures that integrate with existing or proposed database structures.=0A =0A 6. Monitor relational databases to optimize database performance, resource use and physical implementations of databases; address a variety of database integration issues including migration between disparate databases, integration maintenance/conversion, capacity planning issues and new applications.=0A =0A 7. Maintain development, test and production environments. Monitor and maintain database security and database software, in cooperation with data security administrators.=0A =0A 8. Provide advice to applications programmers in the effective use of database languages; advise on troubleshooting, exception processing needs and other data management issues. =0A =0A 9. Maintain availability and integrity of databases through multiple access schemes; facilitate sharing of common data by overseeing proper key index management and data dictionary maintenance.=0A =0A 10. Monitor and manage database backups, logs and journals; installs, maintains and upgrades database software; restores and/or recovers data as required.=0A =0A 11. Perform final database design quality assurance reviews prior to implementation and ongoing support of new databases or database design changes.=0A =0A 12. Support application testing for implementation of new software releases.=0A =0A 13. Practice and promote teamwork at all times. Set a good personal example of attitude and performance. =0A =0A 14. Monitor all area related conditions, property and equipment within corporate standards for cleanliness, proper maintenance and safety. Advise Maintenance of all breakdowns and maintenance immediately. =0A =0A 15. Make sure all area conditions do not threaten employee safety. Respond to and follow proper procedures on employee accidents, injuries, and loss or damage to any property. Report all incidents immediately. Practice and instruct all employees in proper loss prevention and reaction procedures. Report all incidents properly and immediately. =0A =0A =0A Educational Requirements and Qualifications:=0A =0A Bachelor's Degree in a related area or the equivalent in experience is required. At least three (3) years experience in database administration is required. =0A =0A Physical Requirements:=0A =0A The physical activity requirements of the position are Light Physical Work.
